Past Initiatives and Thoughts for the Future
The source of Kioxia's “Memory Technology” is “how much data can be recorded in a small area? ”, in other words, high-density memory. I was involved from the very beginning in the development of the key technology, BiCS FLASH™, a 3D flash memory, and was fortunate enough to receive many awards in recognition of my achievements. My current interests are in the development of technologies necessary for further memory densification and in the search for the next necessary “Memory Technology”. The mechanism of human memory is very complex. We believe that there are new points of view in the mechanism that can be applied to our “Memory Technology, ” and we are conducting research daily. As a preliminary preparation, we have developed CBA technology (CMOS directly Bonded to Array), in which memory control circuits and memory arrays are formed on different wafers and bonded together. Armed with this technology, we will continue to propose new “Memory Technology”.
